The word "Maja" refers to a traditional, sensual, stylish Spanish woman. During the early 20th century, beauty products were about function and cultural export simultaneously. This Maja line, launched in 1918, capitalized on the global fascination with Spanish culture. It was their best known fragrance and was re-released in 1945. Over the years the line has also included eau de toilette, powder, lotion, body gel, and more with the Maja fragrance.
