This dress is known as "Nixon for President" or "Nixon Now" (with the play of the letters on the optical effect). This Paper Dress is an example of a disposable gown, very popular from the 1960s era of mass consumption. In 1968, disposable dresses were used for the political campagn of Nixon. This dress is one of the first examples in the fashion history where politics use clothing as a medium for a political message.
