Pair of ladies' winter ankle shoes on a square heel, in purple felt edged with the same tone plush trimming all over the board of cut out on sides.

"Cut out" boots are the booties with open portions on the shaft area of the foot which is what creates the “cut-out” effect. Sometimes the cut-out detailing extends down on to the vamp of the foot, but usually it’s concentrated around the ankle area.

The original "Russian" style design was launched by François Pinet fashion house in the beginning of the 20th century, under the influence of Ballets Russes of Serge DIAGHILEV. Since then the cut-out booties have maken their reappearance in fashion several times during 20th century, to tightly enter the todays' women wardrobe.
