Caricature representing the singer and actress Mistinguett (1875-1956) wearing a short black dress wearing a red apron matching a neckerchief scarf.

Mistinguett, stage name of Jeanne Florentine BOURGEOIS, was a glory of the French Music-Hall. She began her career in 1885. In 1893, she was hired for the first curtain-raiser painting at the Casino de Paris. Typical image of the Parisian, during the 1920s she became an international star.
