Description
Limited Edition colour costume print of original designs for the Bolshoi theatre ballet "Nutcracker" of 1919, for a costume of "The Nutcracker Prince" (Щелкунчик преобразившийся в принца). The enchanted Christmas gift of Dr. Drosselmeyer to his god-daughter Clara. The simple wooden nutcracker shaped and painted like a toy soldier. The Nutcracker turns Clara's Prince and invited her to his magical kingdom. The print is numbered 548 out of 5000 examples, framed and glazed, signed by the Director of the theatre museum Valery ZARUBIN, and Managing Director of Compton & Woodhouse, Rinalda WARD. The original costume design sketch was created by Konstantin KOROVIN (also spelled as Constantin Korovine, Russian 5 December [23 November] 1861 – 11 September 1939), a leading Russian Impressionist painter.
